It’s Halloween, so today’s post is not about marketing or LinkedIn tips. It’s about celebrating Halloween.

I look forward to Halloween every year. Putting together a unique costume indulges my creative side and provides a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of my everyday life.

I think it’s important for adults to celebrate Halloween in some way, whether it’s dressing up in a costume, trick or treating with your kids, or just eating candy all day.

Most adults don’t get a chance to be super creative at work, so if you’re crafty, have an eye for decorating or just have a good idea that would make a unique costume, Halloween is a chance to let your creative side shine.

And if you’re not creative, no worries! There are many great premade costumes from which to choose (if the long lines at Spirit Halloween don’t scare you).

If you have kids or young family members, getting dressed up can make the holiday more fun for them too. Consider a family-themed costume, but any effort you make will create lasting family memories.

Here are some of my past costumes, all of which are special to and are part of my personal brand. I was Workout Barbie this year. I’ve been Drogon from Game of Thrones, a misspelled Starbucks cup (Starbucks used to always butcher the spelling of my name), Bjork when she wore the infamous swan dress from the 2001 Oscars, a marshmallow Peep and Sharknado. Plus a few Star Wars characters too.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

PS – Not all of your blog or LinkedIn posts have to be super serious – they can also help people get to know you – that’s also personal branding. You’ll probably remember this post versus a post I wrote about marketing tips!
