What would you do if LinkedIn disappeared? Or had an outage?
Do you have backups of the content you post?
Do you have a full list of your past LinkedIn posts?
Do you have a content calendar to manage them?
Do you have a strong email list and are you engaging with your contacts by email regularly?
You own your email list and your content calendar.
You don’t own the information you post on LinkedIn.
Not to be a Debbie Downer but it’s important to make sure you have your own marketing infrastruture in place so that you aren’t relying too much on housing data on any social platform. Because anything can happen.
So what can you do? First request a full data archive of your past posts and create a content calendar from it. Here’s how to do it.
Do this today – it will help you manage your content better, repurpose your posts and have peace of mind that you have all of your content in one place in a place on your own computer (but back it up on Dropbox or something else too).
And build your email list and emarketing strategy. Get a CRM if you don’t already have one to manage your contacts.
What else would you add to the list of to-do’s to ensure you have all your information at your fingertips and aren’t relying on social media too much?
And don’t forget to hit the bell on my LinkedIn profile if you want to make sure to see my posts!
