I don’t usually post about my personal life on the blog, but I wanted to share a post I wrote about how to cope with grief and find happiness when you’re facing a devastating loss.

I lost my dog over the weekend and this article I wrote after my mom passed away is helping me navigate through the complex stages of grief.

A lot of people are dealing with grief right now and complex feelings related to the aftermath of the pandemic. The article is designed to help you navigate tough times.

My dog was loyal, sweet, funny and compassionate. There was nothing better than coming home to my dog Charlie every day. It didn’t matter if I had been gone for five minutes, five hours or five days, he greeted me with the same enthusiasm and always put a smile on my face. He always waited for me at the door and sat on the bathmat when I took at shower. It was the most pure, unconditional love. He brought a smile to everyone with whom he came to contact. He was truly woman’s best friend.

I am so touched by the outpouring of support from everyone as I cope with his passing. If you’ve ever lost a pet, you know how hard it is, particularly during current conditions. I’ve also had a tough year with major changes in my personal life that were sudden and painful.

I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have been Charlie’s mom. He brought so much joy to everyone.

Treasure every moment you have with your loved ones and that include pets. Life is truly so short.

I will miss you forever Charlie.
