Thank you to everyone who attended my LinkedIn master class in Boston today at Greenberg Traurig. It was a great sold out group of legal marketers who were eager to learn about “mastering” LinkedIn for brand building, lead generation and client retention.

I gave attendees two “homework” assignments that everyone should consider doing.

  1. Draft and post a killer headline. Your headline is pulled into Google making it very important to help describe what you do and what differentiates you. You have 150 characters and you can get creative by putting a visual break in between each specialization/descriptive term. If you don’t customize it, LinkedIn will default to your job title and company.
  2. Brainstorm ideas for your LinkedIn profile cover image. Ideas can be related to what you do and where you do it or the city in which you live.

I want to especially thank Lisa Murray for organizing the program, Scott Ziegler for his great intro and leading the LMA Boston local group, Kristyn Brophy for her great tweeting and Erinn Larson for her enthusiasm.

It was so nice to see Boston friends Liz Sobe, Joanne Thorud, Jahna Barbar, Paul Boynton, Dianne Bluestein, Jenna MacNeill, Deborah Scaringi and Marina Pano. Thanks also to Barry Benton and Gittings Photography for sponsoring the event and taking headshots of attendees. The LMA Northeast Region community in Boston is a great group of folks.

Stay tuned for a full recap with key takeaways.
