Here’s one thing everyone needs to do on their LinkedIn company pages today.
Create and use your company hashtag.
A company hashtag is a custom hashtag that is unique to your brand or business.
This hashtag helps with brand recognition and more importantly, gives you and others an easy way to index and find your future posts.
Having a branded hashtag is important because you can only go back 12 months to find older LinkedIn Company Page posts. This gives you a way to archive and index them. Although you should have a social media calendar as well to organize and store your posts.
Here are some other reasons why you should have and use a branded hashtag.
- Brand Recognition: A branded hashtag helps to establish and promote your firm’s brand identity. When used consistently across your marketing materials, social media platforms and other communications, it helps to reinforce your brand and increase recognition.
- Social Media Engagement: Hashtags play a crucial role in social media engagement. By using a branded hashtag, you can encourage clients, colleagues and followers to share content related to your law firm using that specific tag. This increases the visibility of your firm’s content and fosters engagement and discussion within your target audience.
- Tracking and Analytics: A branded hashtag allows you to track and measure the reach and impact of your firm’s marketing campaigns. By monitoring the usage and engagement associated with the hashtag, you can gather valuable insights into the effectiveness of your social media efforts. This data can inform future marketing strategies and help optimize your firm’s online presence.
- Community Building: A branded hashtag creates a sense of community among your clients, colleagues and followers. It encourages them to join conversations, share experiences and connect with others who have used your firm’s services. This sense of community can strengthen relationships and foster trust, ultimately leading to client retention and referrals.
- Content Organization and Categorization: When you encourage others to use your branded hashtag, it helps to categorize and organize content related to your law firm. This makes it easier for users to find information and discussions specifically related to your firm’s services, achievements, events or other relevant topics. It also allows you to curate user-generated content that showcases positive experiences and testimonials.
Make sure the hashtag you create is simple and short. Law firms may need to abbreviate their firm name if it is long.
I always include this hashtag on all of my clients’ posts.
