Here’s the thing about visibility – every single day that you don’t put yourself out there is a day where somebody else who does what you do will.
Maybe they don’t even do it as well as you do, but it doesn’t matter because they are out there and you’re not.
It’s not enough to be great at what you do. You need to use marketing and personal branding to let people know.
Every single day that you don’t decide to build a brand and your business is a day that somebody else will.
Visibility is your responsibility.
Being visible can lead to new business and new opportunities such as media interviews, invites to speak at conferences and write articles and leadership roles.
So many of us don’t do these things because we are perfectionists, we don’t feel ready or we are busy, but at the end of the day, it’s all excuses.
But we’re never going to be fully ready or comfortable doing these things. And action is better than no action.
Every time you do something that pushes you out of your comfort zone, you become better at it. So commit to doing it today.
Remember it doesn’t matter how good you are at what you do if nobody knows about it!
And by the way, I struggle with this as well. It is not easy to show up and be as visible as I am, but I know that it is important for my livelihood.
So what are you going to do today to build your brand and your business?
