This week, an industry friend mentioned a super cool way to pivot your events into a robust 3D virtual experience mimicking as if you were actually there. Naturally I had to check it out.
Since in-person conferences are likely to be on hold for the foreseeable future, it’s worth learning more about. These events also lower our carbon footprint and enable us to be more productive.
The company behind this is Spanish startup Virtway Events.
You create an avatar (choosing your facial appearance, hair, clothing, etc) who “attends” the event experience. Your specific branding, colors and logos can be applied to each event. You can have auditorium style presentations, town halls, breakout rooms, group activity rooms where only your group can hear your comments and you can put presentations on screen and even have an exhibit hall(!).
They count Dupont and Accenture as clients. It’s compatible on PC, Macs as well as iPhones and Androids.
I’m looking into security features, but they did say on the demo that each meeting can have a unique password.
