A Fun Social Media Campaign Idea and Why Your Social Posts Should Showcase the Softer Side of Your Firm

Here’s a fun social media campaign idea:

Today is #LoveYourPetDay. My dog Charlie has brightened up every single day for the past almost nine years. He’s been with me through extreme highs and lows, such as losing my mom to cancer and the sudden end to a relationship with the man with whom I thought I would spend my life. He’s truly woman’s best friend.

There are so many health benefits to having a pet. Research says people with pets are happier and less stressed. The simple act of petting an animal can be incredibly therapeutic.

Business content on LinkedIn can get boring, self-serving and monotonous, and your social media posts shouldn’t just be about your firm’s successes, events and publications.

In fact, you should showcase your firm’s less serious side to engage with your followers in a way that makes your firm more “human” and real. This can really help with recruiting and even your clients want to see behind the curtain and learn more about your people. It will also help your firm stand out in a sea of generic content.

Yes we are wearing matching hats

Also this would be a great social media campaign for a company (yes even a law firm) to do to engage with its employees and show its softer side – especially on Facebook or Instagram. I know a firm that did a contest in its internal newsletter where readers had to match the pet to its owner (one of the partners had a pot belly pig!) – this kind of campaign is a fun way to engage with members of your firm and enhance culture.

I’d love it if we could share photos of our beloved pets with each other. Post of your pet in the comments!
